Meet the Author

Gretta B. Harris has spent years watching narcissists (a parent, a former boss) push people away and make their own lives harder in the process.

Me? A Narcissist's Guide to Not Dying Alone comes from that vantage point: a research-backed, occasionally irreverent guide built on the idea that people with narcissistic traits aren't monsters. They just have some blind spots that make it hard to see what they're doing that's actually working against them. But with a little change in perspective, change becomes possible (and that's a good thing for everyone).

Gretta took a couple psych classes in community college but ended up pursuing art. She sometimes wonders if that was the right choice.

She's not one for astrology, but she's rather attached to her identity as a Gemini, specifically the part about containing opposites. Whimsical and wry. Logical and creative. The kind of person who will read the research and name all of her aquatic snails Emma Thompson, because it just made sense at the time.

She dreams of living in the Pacific Northwest, in a forest full of tall trees and ferns where she can wander aimlessly with her ever growing pack of dogs.
